How it works
One app for buying, selling and scanning tickets.
ETiketsSA has four roles. Here's what each can do and how a ticket goes from sale to gate.
Who uses ETiketsSA
Attendee
Browse published events, mark Interested or Going, comment, buy tickets with an EFT payment reference, keep QR tickets in the app and chat 1-on-1 with organizers.
Organizer
Set up your company and currency, create events with ticket tiers, publish for R280, sell at the gate or via WhatsApp, import external tickets and watch live revenue and scanner reports.
Appointed Seller
Appointed by an organizer to sell tickets (gate POS and online/WhatsApp), mark pending payments as paid, upload tickets and reply to attendee chats.
Appointed Scanner
Scans ticket QR codes at the gate for one assigned active event only. Scanners can't scan their own tickets or tickets for other events.
For organizers
- 1
Sign up & set up
Register as an Organizer, then add your company name, address, contact details and default currency (16 supported, including ZAR, USD, EUR and GBP). The currency applies to all your ticket prices.
- 2
Build your team
Appoint sellers by their registered email, and assign scanners to a specific event. Scanners are limited to one open event at a time.
- 3
Create an event
Add title, description, venue, a poster (up to 5MB), start and end date & time, and ticket tiers — General, VIP, Front/Middle/Rear Seat, Centre or custom — each with description, capacity and price.
- 4
Publish for R280
Events save as Drafts that attendees can't see. Tap “Publish event — R280”, pay securely through Yoco, and your event goes live once payment is verified.
Selling tickets
- 1
Online purchase
Attendees pick tier quantities and tap Buy. They receive a unique 9-character payment reference (e.g. 595251VKR) and their tickets are reserved until EFT payment is confirmed.
- 2
Gate sales
Organizers and sellers sell at the door with no buyer details needed, taking Cash, Card or EFT. Tickets are valid immediately for scanning.
- 3
WhatsApp / email
Staff enter the buyer's name, phone or email and tap Reserve & send. WhatsApp opens pre-filled with ticket codes, the total and the payment reference.
- 4
Mark as paid
On the payment screen, find reservations by reference, buyer name or by scanning a ticket, then mark them paid by Cash, Card or EFT. Reserved tickets become valid.
At the event
- 1
Import external tickets
Bring in tickets sold elsewhere (e.g. Computicket) via CSV with ticket code, buyer name, email, ticket type and external reference — with a preview that flags errors before import.
- 2
Scan at the gate
Scanners use the phone camera or type the code. Unpaid, already-used, own or other-event tickets are rejected. Valid tickets are marked used instantly and show attendee and tier.
- 3
Chat
Attendees message the organizer directly and can send their EFT reference in one tap. Staff get an inbox sorted by latest message with unread badges.
- 4
Live reports
Organizers follow revenue and scanner activity in real time.
